Required Software and Supported Operating Systems

In order to install and run Precision Bridge, you will need the following software on your Precision Bridge server:

Oracle or OpenJDK. Only Java versions 17 and 21 are currently supported.

The Microsoft version of the OpenJDK can be downloaded from here

After installing, enter the command java -version from a windows terminal session to check that you have the correct version.

If you have an older version of Java installed, Precision Bridge may not detect the correct version.  To fix this issue, set the JAVA_HOME environment variable to the location of the later java installation. If you have installed the Microsoft version of the OpenJDK from the link above, the installation folder will be under C:/Program Files/Microsoft/Java.

Supported Operating Systems for installation:

Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2022 or Window Server 2025.
