Pre-requisites: Precision Bridge Licence that allows your database to be used as a target. See Licencing Precision Bridge for more details.
First, check that you have set up the path to the corresponding JDBC driver (under File->Configure->Application).
Before you can start a migration, you must create a new project or open an existing one using the File menu.
After selecting New Project option from the menu, the new project details window is displayed. Enter a meaningful name for your project, and select the location where it will be stored. Then under Server Connections, select the desired source and target connections.
See Configuring Server Connections for more details on this step.
In this example, we have selected Service Now as the Source Server Type and Oracle as the Target Server Type.
Once access to both source and target is confirmed, click on the Create button to create the project definition. A dialogue is then presented at the bottom left of the screen indicating that the product is establishing Source Connection and Cache, then Target Connection and Cache, which may take a few seconds. Then the name of the project should appear at the top of the left pane with the version number in brackets like this:
Unless you already have a set of tables that you want to populate, the easiest option is to use the Precision Bridge Archiving Wizard. to create tables mirroring those on the Source Server.
Once the tables are created you can also use the wizard to create the corresponding mappings for your archive project.
