The Licencing Interface
On the initial launch of Precision Bridge, the licence properties screen will appear, prompting you to request a licence. The licence options are different depending on the version of Precision Bridge you have installed. For version 8.0 or later the options will be presented like this:
The same dialog can be viewed at any time using help->licence from the menu.
Requesting a Licence
Enter your company name, project name, contact name and phone number then select the Licence Type. The Client Mac Address should be auto-populated.
There are 2 licence types available:
- TRIAL: This will grant a 10 day, use of Precision Bridge for the set of connections defined. However, during execution of your projects, a maximum of 50 records for each form mapping will be migrated
- SUBSCRIPTION: This grants the user unlimited use of Precision Bridge for the set of connections defined for a given period. The duration of the licence will be determined by your entitlement.
For both trial and subscription licences, you need to add all the server connections that you want to licence for use.
To add a new connection for a licence:
- Click the 'Add' button to the right of the table of licenced connections
- Select the connection type (for example Service Now)
- Select the connection scope, i.e whether this connection is to be licenced as a source or target for migration
- Select the connection role, i.e whether this connection is to a production or non-production server/instance. Typically, Precision Bridge will charge only for Production licences and for each production connection you will be able to licence 2 non-production instances, to be used for development and testing purposes. Note that licencing a connection as a non-production instance when it is in fact in use as a production instance is a violation of the licence agreement
- Specify the identification values for the connection. The values required here will depend on the type of connection. See the table below for more information
- Click 'OK' to add the connection.
Once you have added all the connections you would like to licence click 'Request Licence' to generate the licence request.
