Introduction to the Quick Start Guide

Welcome to Precision Bridge! To get the most out of the tool it is recommended that you begin your migration journey by reading the articles in this quick start guide. It describes the architecture and the key features of Precision Bridge, with links to other articles in the main body of documentation if you need more detail on a particular subject. Some of the articles towards the end of the guide are specific to particular use cases and can be skipped if they do not apply to your project.

If you have not already done so, you will first need to Install and Licence Precision Bridge. Precision Bridge can be installed on any Windows machine (physical or virtual). The only pre-requisite is that Java JDK will need to be installed first. Precision Bridge supports versions 17 to 25 of the JDK. You will need administrator permissions on the machine to install Precision Bridge, but once installed standard user permissions are enough.
