If after installing Precision Bridge on your Windows machine, it does not launch when using either the Programs menu or the Desktop icon, first check that you have Java Runtime installed on the same machine.
To check the version of java that you have installed, open a terminal session and enter the command java -version
For Precision Bridge 6.2 or below, it should be Java 8, version 1.8.0.281 or later build
For Precision Bridge 6.3 or above, it should be Java 17 to 21
If Precision Bridge still does not launch, check the contents of the following folder on your machine : C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\PrecisionBridge6.x
Specifically, there should be an error.log file and a startup.log file.
Either of these may contain further information about the reason for the failure to start correctly.
Send the contents of these files to Precision Bridge support by submitting a new request or attaching them to an existing request.
